Make it easy for customers to contact you by putting a contact form on your website. Here are some tips for making your form awesome:
1. Don’t Bury It
This may seem obvious, but contact us forms are often buried. If you want to make it easy for customers to reach out to you, include this form on your homepage and any other relevant page.
2. Keep It Simple
People don’t like to fill out long forms, especially when they are just trying to get a hold of you. Keep your questions limited to what you absolutely need to know in order to do the next step.
3. Show What’s Relevant
In some cases, you need a bit more information from some people, but not from everyone. Use conditional logic to hide fields until they are needed.
4. Make a Good Case
Why should someone fill in your contact form? Give visitors a compelling reason to get in contact. This may be something like a special offer or some highly useful free information.
5. Make it Pop!
Use bright colors, eye-catching text, and big buttons. Make sure people know the form is there. At the same time, make sure it looks nice and fits in with your site design.
6. Connect it to Your Customer Database
Save time by bringing contacts from your web form right into your customer database. Our integration with Formstack makes this easy!
7. Use a Thank You Page
Thank people for filling out your form and tell them what will happen next. If you owe them something, use the thank you page to help them get it right away.
8. Don’t Use CAPTCHA
CAPTCHA may help you cut down on spam, but it is a pain for visitors to use. It’s just another obstacle to people filling out your contact form.
9. Don’t Scare Them Away
If people think that filling out your form will get them spammed with email and phone calls, they won’t do it. Make it clear that you will respect their privacy and their time.
10. Make it Mobile
People are browsing the web on their cell phones and tablets. Keep that in mind when designing your form.
