If you’ve been working in your Batchbook account recently, you’ll have noticed that it looks a little different. We’ve started to make some changes that we hope will make Batchbook even easier to use. You do real work in Batchbook; booking sales, handling customer questions, and collaborating as a team to keep your business organized. Our goal is to help you do all of that quickly and to make each task simple and enjoyable for you. To that end, we will be refreshing various experiences throughout Batchbook over the coming months.
New Dashboard Widget
We decided to start on the page that new users start on when they get their brand new Batchbook account, the Dashboard. There are a few things that we’ve found that users want to do first:
- Import contacts into the CRM
- See how those contacts are organized
- Create new Deals to start tracking sales efforts
To help users access those three things more quickly, we’ve add a new dashboard widget. This widget shows up right at the top of the dashboard, and points the way to key tasks in Batchbook.
Some Helpful Tasks
In addition to the new widget, we’ve added some default To-Dos for new accounts. These To-Dos point to further education about Batchbook. Our goal is to help users get started quickly and access resources that will help them get more out their free trial. Previously, we used a welcome widget to point to these resources. By using To-Dos, we’ve been able to simplify the dashboard a bit as well as provide a way for users to start interacting with our To-Do feature.
Every new user will see the Quick Links and the To-Dos. All of the other dashboard widgets are hidden. We chose to do this because those widgets only become useful when users start interacting with Batchbook and filling in information. As they do, users can turn on the dashboard widgets that will be most helpful to them.
Fonts and Colors
Perhaps the most noticeable change is to our font and colors. We’ve adjusted the font weight and size throughout the app to make it easier to read and more visually appealing. We’ve also started to adjust colors on things like backgrounds, buttons and in app messaging. Some of the key changes:
- Larger font in places for improved readability
- All links are now blue
- Lighter font weight on big text, so it’s more appealing to the eye
There are even more changes ahead. Look for some additional tweaks to colors and fonts, as well as some updates of certain parts of the app. The goal is to improve the overall experience of using Batchbook. Look for things to get simpler, more beautiful, and more friendly.
