Your work day is about to get easier. That’s because we’ve just launched Batchbook’s CRM automation for to-do workflows. This is the first of a series of automations we will be rolling out in Batchbook over the coming months.
To-dos help you stay on top of your workload, or at least they should. If you spend as much time creating new to-dos as completing your current ones, something is wrong. Our newest feature is the solution.
Why does your to-do workflow need CRM automation?
For most of us, a to-do workflow is just a series of tasks that we do for our customers or related to our job.
If you find yourself doing the same series of tasks a lot, this automation is for you.
With it, you can set up automations that create a new to-do based on things like completing a to-do or adding a tag.
Follow a set series of tasks
We’ve been testing this new feature with real customers, and so far, they are finding lots of good uses for it.
One salesperson has a 3-step sales process that he performs many times every day. Before this feature, he had to add to-dos for each step. Now that Batchbook allows for sales automation CRM, all he has to do is trigger the automations and the rest of the to-dos get created for him. This saves him a bundle of time.
Once the automations are set up, you can focus on more important things that need your personal touch. You will be able to stay on top of your workflow much easier. Every time you complete a task, the next one will be right there waiting for you.
Create repeating to-dos
You can also use this new feature to set up recurring tasks. Set up an automation to create a new to-do any number of days after the current to-do gets completed.
Customers have started to use this to build monthly, weekly, or even daily tasks.
Use tags to vary your workflow
At times, you might have a to-do workflow that varies depending on the result of a previous task. You might call a prospect, and depending on that call, email them some information or book a meeting with them.
In this case, you probably want a different to-do created depending on the result. You can do this with tags.
Set up a to-do automation to trigger when you tag a to-do. Then, before you mark the first to-do as complete, tag it something like “email” or “meeting”. That will trigger the right to-do for the next step, be it “Send an email” or “Book a meeting”.
As always, flexibility for the way you work
Our goal is simple, to make work easier for you be handling a lot of the small details for you. We don’t know all the nuances of your work day. So this feature comes with the flexibility you need to make it work for your unique workflows.
For instance, you can set up automations to happen when a to-do with a certain title is completed. But, you may not always use the same title. So, we’ve built in a way for you to only include part of the title in the trigger.
Easy automation setup
If you’ve ever worked with automated workflows before, you may have noticed they can be quite complicated to set up. Not so with our automations.
Automation setup is easy. You’ll just need to pick what you would like to trigger your automation, and then what action you would like performed. No Master’s degree required!
Easy to try
We can’t wait for you to try out this new feature. You can find it under Settings>Automations if you are an Owner or Admin (if not, you’ll have to ask one, sorry).
This is our first premium feature, so please note that if you continue to use this new feature, you will be automatically upgraded to our new Advanced plan.
We continue to add more to automations. Please be generous in your feedback on this first set of features and your ideas for more.
Once you start using automations, come back here and tell us what you are using them for in the comments section.
