Good news MailChimp users, we’ve just rolled out an update to make our MailChimp integration even more useful. Here’s what you’ll get:
Send to Groups in MailChimp
Need to send a segment of contacts to a specific group or groups on your MailChimp list? Now you can. When you export from a Batchbook list, if your MailChimp list has groups, you will be able to pick which ones to send your Batchbook contacts to.
Using groups in MailChimp helps you be even more relevant with your emails and helps organize your big email subscriber list so it’s more useful for your marketing team.
Create New MailChimp Lists from Batchbook
You may find yourself needing a new list, maybe for that segment of customers that you just created who all bought something from you last year. You can now do this easily right in Batchbook. From either the Contact Detail Widget or from the List view, just click on the Create a New List button.
You’ll need to provide your address and some other information to keep the CAN-SPAM folks happy. Once you do, your new list will be created in MailChimp and you can send contacts to it from Batchbook.
MailChimp Activity and Subscriptions for All Contacts
If you have MailChimp connected to your Batchbook account, you will now see the MailChimp widget on every contact record.
This means, if that contact is on a MailChimp list, you will see information about it right on the contact record in Batchbook.
Here’s what you’ll see:
This is sortable by list name and will show recent emails the contact received and opened, and if/when the contact unsubscribed from the list.
This shows which list(s) the contact is subscribed to, along with other useful information such as their MailChimp engagement rating.
You will also be able to remove a contact from a MailChimp list in this section. When you do, they will be deleted from the list in MailChimp, but not unsubscribed. This means they could be added back later.
Change a Name in Batchbook, Watch it Change in MailChimp
Another cool and useful thing you can do from your Batchbook contact is make an edit to the contact name and have that sync over to MailChimp. This is especially helpful if you are personalizing your MailChimp emails.
So, if you found out that the contact you’ve been calling Paul is actually named Paulo, just make the change in Batchbook and it will be updated in MailChimp automatically.
Add a Single Contact to a MailChimp List
Besides viewing existing details, you can also add any contact with an email address to one of your MailChimp lists. You do this right from the Contact Detail widget.
Clicking on Add to List gets the job done. Just click on the list you would like to add the contact to (or CTRL click to add them to multiple lists at once) and you are good to go. Of course, you need to verify that you have permission to add a person to the list.
Add Lots of Contacts to a MailChimp List
You can also still add many contacts to a MailChimp list all at once. You do this first by building a list in Batchbook, and then choosing to export it MailChimp.
Imports and Dashboard
Nothing has changed with our Dashboard widget or with importing contacts from MailChimp.
On the Dashboard, you’ll still see a nice overview of your recent campaigns.
From Import, you can select MailChimp as your source, choose which list to import from, and even filter by group and engagement rating.
All of these updates make it even easier for you to manage your MailChimp lists from within Batchbook, see which contacts are engaging with your emails, and take next steps like following up with a phone call or creating a new marketing list to send more relevant emails to.
We hope you enjoy the update. Let us know what you think about it in the comments.
