We’ve recently launched a new version of our Batchbook social CRM product. There are many improvements in the speed and usability, as well as a number of new features and integrations. We will be highlighting many of these over the next few weeks. But before we get to the bells and whistles, I want to share a bit about the guiding principles (we call them the Blue Principles) that we use to run our own company and that are the foundation on which we are building our product.
Loving Your Customers
We love working with small businesses because we know that there is a special relationship that exists between them and their customers. It’s an “everybody knows your name” kind of thing that big box stores just can’t replicate. Even in our high tech world, personal touch is the thing that most sets small businesses apart from larger competitors. But keeping it personal is hard. There are so many nuances that go into good relationships. Technology should not replace the personal touch, it should enhance it.
Batchbook helps all members of your team identify and stay connected with your most important customers. When customers know they are loved, they come back for more. And they bring their friends! When you genuinely care about your customers, you will be creating a very solid foundation for your business, one that you can build very big things upon.
One really fun feature in Batchbook is our new Champions button. This is a little star shaped button that can be activated on any contact. This will mark them as a Champion. Now, everyone at your business will recognize favorite customers. What’s more, you can filter contacts, To-Dos, and communications by Champion status and search through Champions that have not been contacted in a while, helping you to give priority to your best customers.
Our customer experience team is all about loving our customers. Here’s Jill and Jen sporting their Champion stickers.
Balancing the Work and Life Passions
It is very important for our business to not sacrifice personal passions for professional ambition. We live in a highly mobile, hyper connected and personally involved world, which means we no longer need a strictly scheduled workday or rigid job descriptions to be a productive workforce. Factories need clock punchers. Clouds do not. So the more we can take our own business to the cloud, the easier it is for our employees to stay connected, make decisions, and engage with co-workers while still taking care of their families, their health, their side businesses and their various interests and passions.
We’ve designed Batchbook to add a flexibility and efficiency to your business. Batchbook can be accessed from anywhere at any time. By sharing information and surfacing the most important tasks, Batchbook helps you to focus on important customer relationships while avoiding unproductive busy work.
Alex, our creative director, working on his balance, literally.
Empowering Your Team
Beyond just flexible work hours and remote locations, we want employees to control their own professional destiny. It takes a lot to trust employees to rule their own destiny. This flexibility only works if people have the autonomy to make quick decisions. They must be given access to all of the information that they need to make these decisions and should know they are still supported if they make a few mistakes.
Most tools out there are designed to hoard and restrict. We’ve created a tool that is designed to empower and entrust. Small businesses have a better chance of succeeding if all members of the team are sharing their knowledge, especially the knowledge about relationships they are building with customers, partners, vendors, even neighbors.
We’ve designed and priced Batchbook to encourage all members of the team to jump in and share contact information, communications and follow-ups needed. All of our plans allow unlimited users, so everyone from the receptionist to the CEO can share information about the conversations they are having, the feedback they are getting and the requests they need help with.
Batchbook helps you collect information about your favorite customers in one place. This information can be shared with everyone, which makes collaborating much easier. Where before, nuances about a customer might be stuck in one person’s head, with Batchbook all of those important details and past communications can be shared. This lets everyone get in on loving your customers and helps you to accomplish a lot more as a team.
Jay, one of our awesome developers, feeling very empowered.
There are a bunch of other great features in Batchbook that help you attain customer friendliness, and we will be talking about each of them here on the blog in the coming weeks.
Combining technology with a passion for personal touch will help you have a friendlier, more efficient small business. Those efficiencies add up to give you more time to focus on your life. Plus, working in a business that spends the majority of its time pleasing customers will make every employee happier. And with good teamwork, you’ll be able to reach your world-changing goals much faster!
