Our new MailChimp integration adds a lot of value for small businesses. You can now use Batchbook and MailChimp together to build better mailing lists and engage more closely with the people who read your emails.
Import People Who Read Your Emails
We don’t think you should just dump contacts into Batchbook via bulk imports. Having too many contacts really makes your job of connecting with the right people, at the right time, a lot harder.
So, when we built the MailChimp importer, we kept that in mind. You don’t have to (and shouldn’t) import all of your MailChimp contacts into Batchbook. Instead, you can pick a specific list to import. Even better, you can choose to only import people on that list who have a high MailChimp member rating. These are the folks who are actually reading your emails. You want to bring them into Batchbook so you can follow up with them more closely.
Export Lists to MailChimp
If you are looking for higher engagement with your emails, one of the best things you can do is send to a smaller, more relevant list of contacts. With Batchbook, you can record a lot of useful information about your contacts. This might include things like what products they buy, where they live, or how many bananas they eat on a normal day (looking at you, Freddie).
As you build relationships with your customers, you will get to know them better. You can use the information you keep in Batchbook to build very specific segments of customers.
For example, if you are a baker who wants to start a blueberry festival, you can build a list of every customer who ever bought a blueberry pie from you and who lives nearby. You can then export that list to MailChimp and send out a very tasty email enticing those customers to come to your festival.
See Your MailChimp Campaigns
If you actively send out newsletters and other email campaigns, you’ll want to make sure your team knows what emails went out, when they were delivered, and even how popular they were. We bring this information over from MailChimp and put in right on your Batchbook dashboard where everyone can see it.
This dashboard view lists all of your recent emails with the latest delivery and open data from MailChimp. You can click on any of the emails in the list to see the full email.
You’ll get your full reporting and analysis in MailChimp, but this dashboard widget is an ideal way to share the emails that you are sending with the whole team.
Find Out Who is Reading What
Perhaps the coolest and most useful feature of the MailChimp integration takes place right inside the contact detail view. When you import contacts from MailChimp, they will get a bonus widget. This widget shows you which emails the contact received and which ones they have opened.
With this, you can see how engaged a customer is with your emails. This information is useful in helping you decide how to follow up. If you see that someone read a particular email, you can reference it in your follow up with them. You can also decide to send them information based on what they haven’t read. In fact, the widget lets you create a To-Do based on any email, so scheduling your follow up is easy!
