Ah To-Do’s, how would I ever get anything done on time without you? To-Do’s are a favorite in Batchbook of many folks for just that reason: they help keep us on track!

Quick Look at Tasks from the Dashboard
So what makes To-Do’s in Batchbook particularly handy? First, I love having our To-Dos right on the Dashboard so that I can get moving quickly as soon as I log in. It’s a great quick-start to the day!
Team Based Task Management
As I hop over to the To-Do tab for a more in depth look at my tasks, it’s helpful being able to see not only what I’m personally working on, but what’s on my team’s plate as well.
While it’s nice seeing their upcoming To-Do’s and such, the filters on the left keep me sane by helping to narrow down the search and work with one particular set of To-Do’s at a time.
Usually I’m narrowing down by a combination of To-Do’s assigned to me with a particular tag or category.
Organize Tasks with Categories
Speaking of categories, To-Do categories are actually quite a little power house that I think are often overlooked. Using the customizable categories allow you to group similar To-Do’s together into particular projects or goals or what have you.
What I love about this is that I can filter my To-Dos by category and work on one particular project at a time instead of having to jump around.
For example, I have a category for our Live Training sessions. To-Do’s that fall into that category include: brainstorming new training ideas, writing new scripts, scheduling, and following up with folks who have attended previous training. If I decide a particular day or afternoon is Live Training work day, then I can quickly find all of To-Do’s associated with Live Training and work through that To-Do list.
Get Friendly Reminders for Important Tasks
Now of course where would I be without those friendly reminders for our upcoming To-Do’s? While the emailed weekly digest is helpful, what I find most useful are the SMS and email reminders I establish when creating the To-Do’s in the first place. That way I get a gentle reminder to get my important tasks done before they turn the dreaded red/overdue color!
While To-Dos are pretty straightforward and easy to use – those bonus features of filtering, categories and reminders really make it a win-win for me and our team. For more details on the To-Do feature in Batchbook check out our help docs.
