In case you missed it, we’ve put together a handy little guide to help you get your holiday mailings done this year.
Our guide is full of great tips, like the following:
Gather Your List
Use your existing tools to find people to send your holiday greetings to. Places to look include your email address book, your accounting software, your social network connections (especially people you have interacted with regularly), your email newsletter, and of course your customer database software.
You may want to think in terms of two lists – one that you can mail something to (a nice card or gift) and one that you can connect with online (through email or social media).
Clean it Up
Once you have gathered contacts from different places, its time to put them together and clean up the list. This will help you avoid duplicates and fill in any missing information.
Here are some tools that can help you get your list organized and cleaned up:
- Batchbook – Import your contacts and de-dupe them. Also find any that are missing key pieces of information, like a mailing address.
- USPS – Check your mailing addresses to make sure they are accurate.
- Verify Emails – Use this tool to make sure your email addresses are correct.
- Excel – Dedupe your contact list using Excel’s built in tools. You can also sort your Excel file to find contacts with missing emails, etc.
